Seeing the text from Jonas' point of view contributes to my understanding the community because I have all these questions about the community. Some of them are like question bout the community, and is it really perfect? Then if it weren't for Jonas we as a class wouldn't know about the rules of the receiver training, colors, and all these memories of the passed. I also realized that whoever is behind this community made a strange choice to not let the community know what if was like centuries ago, and how there isn't any love.

Meaning of the Song
I think that the song Imagine by John Lennon is about how a peaceful world/"perfect" world, when there really isn't. I know this because on the 9th line it says, "Imagine all the people living peace...", this is a straight out demonstration about the meaning of this song. I also know this because on the 1st stanza it says, "Imagine theres no heaven... No hell below us... Above us only the sky...". This is like meaning no one did anything bad to hell and everyone stays together like a "family".
How it connects to The Giver
The song Imagine by John Lennon connects with the giver in its certain ways, because in the song and the book it talks about how it would be with a "perfect" world, and the details about it.

One of the freedoms that is challenged in today's society is the "Ensure domestic tranquility", this means to keep everything calm and peaceful, but in our society it's being challenged by the government because they want to have access to our personal data like in our phones. I think that this causes fear because this means anyone could view our data if it gets into the wrong hands, but it's bad enough that the government would be looking inside our information.
I believe that keeping everything calm and peace is the best thing to have and for this to be happening to our personal information causes anxiety for some people, this isn't supposed to happen.

Jonas' point of view is changing with the community by him not being able to say anything to anyone. I know this for a fact because is the book it talks about the rules that Jonas was given to follow in order to complete his training.

Chapter 9 - Starting all over
I chose "Starting all over" as my title for chapter 9 because towards the middle of chapter 9 Jonas has these thoughts about his new career and why these rules. I know this because on pg. 65 it says, "Jonas was stunned. What would happen to his friendships? His mindless hours playing ball, or riding his bike along the river?". This means that he has all these questions about what's going to happen because of all of these rules.

I would like to live in a community where there is Freedom and that I can make my own choices. I chose this because where I can make my own choices is where I can express myself. I also believe this because if I had me choices chosen then I might be stuck being the same as everyone else and if I don’t like that choice, I wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. Something bad about having your choices chosen for you is that someone else can have done the wrong choice for you and then you aren’t allowed to continue to do what you actually like. Over all I would like to live in our community.

In Jonas community they create unity from conformity by having nobody left behind. I mean this because since everyone gets a job and a "family unit" it's pretty easy to live in a community where there is no trouble fitting in or not having as much as someone else has. So since everyone has the same things everyone should get along well. For example in Jonas community you are automatically assigned a job, but in our community you have to get off your lazy butt and go apply for a job, then hopefully you get the job.

Blog Post 3: "What If?"
I think that it would be important to know history because without it we can't recall the mistakes that were made in the past, then they can be done again in the present. It's also very important to know about our history because history isn't just something that was a while ago, it can easily be something that was just said, made, done, etc.
During the discussion I agreed with Julio because I had the same thought/idea in my head. I also agreed with him because I like the way how he explained the mistakes that could be done and gave an example along with it. I think that he made a good point because he's right what if people decide to try a bomb and they can get killed. It could be the end.
